Now, you can start attaching the vacuum pool hose to the top of the vacuum head and start to submerge it into the water, and make sure that it is submerged in the water for the whole duration of the cleaning.

Priming the hose before attaching it to the suction line is the next important step because it allows you to fill it with water to avoid air from going into your pump, and this is done by holding it in front of the return valve and wait until air bubbles coming from the vacuum head are totally gone. Don’t forget to always keep the water in the hose every time you attach it to the skimmer basket.

You can start vacuuming and be very considerate about the pool vacuum instructions given to you by the manufacturers because there might be specific instructions for a specific type of vacuum cleaner. When you are done, disconnect the hose from the skimmer and pull off the vacuum equipment and then turn off the pump. Make sure to carefully clean the skimmer basket and hair basket (located at the pump). Finally, you must rinse, drain and store all attachments and pieces of the vacuum and do these very carefully to avoid destroying the essential attachments.
